Coach Altieri enters his seventh season as the Albany Athletics head coach and general manager.

As coach, he has developed his Senators teams into a State contender each of the last three years including last year when his squad went 22-18-2 overall and captured the franchise's second AABC Upper New York State Championship in the last three years.

In fact, Altieri and his Senators have reached the State Championship each of the last three years with their other State title coming in 1998 after a 33-14-2 season. That year proved to be a banner year for the coach and his young team. The Senators reached the North Atlantic Final Four and found themselves one game away from the Stan Musial World Series before falling to Easton, Massachusetts. Earlier in the year, Albany reeled off an 18-game unbeaten streak and won the Boosters Memorial Series in Saugerties, NY.

For Altieri, he was named AABC Upper New York State Manager of the Year for his team's accolades--an award he recognizes as a reflection of his players' hard work.

Furthermore, as a coach he has brought the Senators to success before the franchise competed in the AABC Championship Tournament. As a member of the Mountains Collegiate League Altieri led the Senators to a regular season title in 1997 with a 33-10 record as well as a second place finish in 1996 with a 24-14 overall record.

As general manager of the Senators, Altieri has recruited some of the most outstanding student-athletes from all over the country over the last five years to play for his team including players from University of Alabama-Birmingham, Lassen Junior College, Cleveland State, Rutgers, Troy State, Western Kentucky, Hawaii-Hilo, Lubbock Christian, College of St. Scholastica, Briar Cliff College, Dowling College and Concordia College.

He has also taken some of the best area collegiate players from The College of Saint Rose, Siena College, Albany State, Hudson Valley and RPI.

Each spring Altieri also runs the Saint Rose Junior Varsity baseball program where he has accumulated a 52-37-1 record over four seasons as the Head JV Coach, including a 12-8 finish this past season. He played his college ball there as an infielder where he posted a .364 average in limited action during his senior year. Altieri was a member of Golden Knights' teams that made trips to the Northeast Regionals his junior and senior years.

As a player, the Guilderland native also spent four summers playing in the Twilight League for three different teams. As the starting third baseman his final Twilight season, he posted a .302 batting average in 24 games.

The Twilight League recently voted Altieri as the League Publicity Coordinator.

After graduating from Saint Rose in 1995 with a Bachelors in Public Communications, he has moved on to pursue a Masters in Public Relations.

KEITH LANSLEY
¨ Assistant Coach ¨
¨ 3rd Year ¨

Coach Lansley enters his second season as an assistant coach with the Senators. Last season he handled the pitchers in his first coaching role since graduating from The College of Saint Rose in May. Not only was Lansley a value to the pitching staff as a coach in 2000, but he also provided a lift to the Senators as an outstanding left-handed spot starter and reliever. The Clifton Park native took full advantage of the role and proved to be a great asset to Albany. After posting a pair of wins in the regular season, Lansley pitched a complete game shutout against the Syracuse Merchants in a third round game in the Upper New York State Championship Tournament. Two days later, he bailed out the Senators in the tournament championship when he came in in relief to pitch four hitless innings enroute to another tournament win and State title for the Senators. Lansley was named Tournament Most Valuable Player that week.

Four years ago, Keith threw arguably his best game ever when he shutout the Etobicoke Rangers, 1-0 on a one-hit, 10-strikeout performance and complete game in the Ottawa International Tournament.

He has been a permanent staple with the Senators over the last five years. During his Senators career, Lansley has posted a 16-9 record in 50 games with a 4.16 ERA and 173 strikeouts in 202.00 innings, and ranks in the top three in five all-time Senators pitching categories. He is the all-time Senators' leader in career strikeouts (173) and games pitched (50). Despite undergoing surgery on his throwing shoulder in 1998, Keith fought hard to return stronger and better for his final two years of baseball.

While Lansley was a player at Saint Rose, he enjoyed an outstanding senior year going 7-2 with a XXX ERA and XXX strikeouts in XXX innings. As the number two starter in the Golden Knights' rotation, Keith helped lead the team to a berth in the NCAA Division II World Series last year.

Coach Lansley graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and is currently pursuing his Masters at Saint Rose where he is a graduate assistant with the baseball program.
